  • How much does it cost?

  • Hoes does Pelican make money?
    Pelican derives income from a percentage of the spread.
  • Are you a regulated firm?
    Yes. Our FRN is 534484. Getting regulation has been one of the bigger challenges of this app. Complications arose because ESMA (Europe's regulatory body) contradicted an initial verdict to from the FCA, which significantly added to the process.
  • What technology is your platform built with?
    The client side is built using Xamarin Forms with MVVM Cross. The Server side is built using a .net framework.
  • What other features are you planning?
    Many. However, the next features will be based on our proprietary Burslem software which allows the real-time calculation of stats. Therefore there will be market wide stats on sentiment and individual stats on performance.
  • Can I use a demo account?
    Yes for the Beta test in August. When the app goes live we will not provide demo accounts. New accounts will be given a number of free trades to familiarise themselves.
  • Can you send a challenge to a friend?
    Not initially. For the beta test users will be bale to challenge an existing trade. However, this function will follow soon after launch.
  • How many groups can I set up?
    As many as you like. The chat feature of the app follows exactly the same format as WhatsAPP.
  • Is my money protected?
    Yes. All funds used on the app are deposited with City Index. Pelican never touch any of your funds.
  • Can I not publish trades to a group wall?
    Of course. Everything on the app is fully customisable. The option of not publishing a trade is provided at the time of making a trade.

  • Does Pelican have auto Copying?
    No. Pelican is about the joys of trading - auto copying detracts from this.
  • Which feature has created the most excitement?
    With the exception of Mike and I, every user so far has focussed on the Challenge feature. This is probably because it is genuinely novel where as the other features are an aggregation of functions that blend in perfectly to the experience but are available independently on other apps we have discovered.

    There are over 6,000 global markets on Pelican. All at competitive spreads starting from 0.5 pts.
  • Who is the underlying execution provider?
    City Index provide the execution for Pelican. They are now part of the GAIN Capital Group of companies - one of the largest retail trading platforms in the world.
